The Yavar Nuñez family

The Yavar Nuñez family are grandchildren of Carmelina1 Del Pozo currently residing in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Carmelina was one of the younger siblings in the family of Pastor and Ines Del Pozo. If you are a descendant of:

  • Ines Del Pozo (wife of Carlos Wilson)  …or…
  • Maria Teresa Del Pozo (wife of Dr. Francisco X. Martinez Aguirre)  …or…
  • Jose Pastor Del Pozo
  • or any of the Del Pozo Siblings of the 19th Century…

…then you are closely related to this family because Carmelina was a younger sister of Ines and Maria Teresa and older sister of Jose Pastor. Originally nine, one of the Yavar Nuñez siblings passed away about a year ago leaving eight. They are adults – most with families of their own.

The video below was made spontaneously at the home of one of these siblings, Patricia. When it was made in 2013, she was taking care of their mother who was in the far reaches of old age. All eight siblings were present for the recording of this video. They are the children of Carmelina’s daughter Ana Maria. They were informed that this recording was intended as a way of introducing them to their North American Relatives who don’t speak Spanish or who may not have the opportunity to travel to Ecuador to meet them. As you will notice they seized this opportunity to send warm greetings to their English-speaking relatives.

Another brother, Jose Raul Zúñiga Núñez, was not present for this video but he arrived a day or two later in time for another video together with three of his sisters which was created to send a response to a relative living in North America.

  1. Carmelina’s given name was “Mary Claire of Mount Carmel”
