The genealogical image below was prepared from the research of Margaret Y. Martinez - wife of Bonifacio Martinez. For more details on her sources, continue reading below the tree. To get more information from the tree, hover (with the mouse) over the hotspots

Margaret relied primarily on a genealogical document in Spanish from Ecuador entitled "Los Santos de Charapoto" - a genealogical book with information on many families.  For Margaret the relevant section was the chapter on the "Santos Muentes".  The section on the "Santos Muentes" branch was photographed page-by-page and compiled into a pdf document. Because it's based on photographs rather than text, it is a large file.  You can download it by clicking here.

Note that some of the ancestors of the Del Pozo family in the 1700's had the family name of "De La Chica".  This name means literally "of the girl" or "from the girl".  It turns out that this is not such an uncommon name after all.    A quick google search turned up a Spanish politician named Francisco De La Chica (click to see his wikipedia page) ...as one present-day example.
